Treatment and Trials
Living with and managing HIV disease requires a thorough understanding of
the treatments that are available to you. It also demands that drug companies
develop new and more effective HIV drugs through clinical trials and research.
If you’re frustrated about the lack of information specific to women, consider
participating in a clinical trial (there are many kinds)! Even if you don’t
participate in a drug study, you’re still helping us learn more about HIV
disease in women!
It’s never been more important for women to get involved in HIV drug
research and clinical trials. Historically, women's health issues in
conjunction with HIV have not been thoroughly researched. It needs to
be – our bodies are different from men’s bodies, and our reactions to
medications can be different, too. You can help by getting involved and
participating. Click on the links below for more information about how you can
get involved in research.
